Hi 👋🏻
I’ve seen a lot of people try to prove themselves by putting others down. They dismiss ideas, belittle opinions, and act like their way is the only right way.
And it makes me wonder, why do we feel the need to look down on someone or their ideas in order to establish ours as superior?
The problem
The thing is, looking down on others doesn’t make us smarter, it only narrows our perspective. Every time we shut out another viewpoint, we miss an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect. You don’t need to prove yourself right, but you have to be open enough to listen and learn what others want to say or think.
Food for thought
If you also have the same issue, if you also feel the urge to assert your version as the ‘best,’ or ‘right’ then please pause and listen. Valuing someone else’s idea makes your own stronger and your relationships deeper.
Thanks for reading 🙂
We all have our own ways of thinking and unique perspectives. Learn from others, and don’t force your ideas onto someone else, or into a conversation where they don’t belong.
See ya!
